Equine Awareness &Commuication

No, I don't mean me...nor you; but for the many horses who are living lives of something else entirely! It may seem an obvious statement but that's the point really...it's to highlight the fact and thus acknowledge the needs of the horse and ultimately better the lives of both equine and human..... It appears to me in my dealings within the equine world that there are very many unhappy owners and horses due to a communication breakdown or worse, no communication at all! Many owners spend so much time and energy on their horses only to battle daily with handling and communication problems. Within the horse world there are many schools of thought on training and achieving results, a lot based on the 'taming the beast' philosophy, and a great emphasis on riding. This is often force based with no real regard for the horses' feelings about the world she lives in and whether the trust is well established with those who make demands of her. For many owners this one dimensional relationship is not enough and they feel dissatisfied, and rightly so. Where to start to put things right and to change the way they 'talk' to their horse is often very difficult. If this is how you feel then I can help. Together we can build your profile and that of your horse and develop the ground skills to improve what you mean to your horse. Different sessions are geared toward: •owner of new horse •owner of horse with 'issues' or a change to enviroment •novices looking to own first horse •riders who only have lessons and want proper 'horse-time' to learn handling skills •loss of confidence

In life it's very often a case of 'clicking' with people or not and that depends on many factors; age, interests, opinions, social influences etc., Sometimes it's just a lack of communication and empathy that prevents us forging a relationship with someone... and we speak the same language! This is very much a common problem between human and horse except then it's a definite language barrier! Happily, this is not insurmountable and the 'language of equus' can be learnt by anyone and put into practice...it's no miracle method, endless systematic drilling or mystical 'whispering'; it's you, it's your horse; it's you listening and your horse saying 'thank you'....
